Gold at the New Hampshire Open!
Nicole Chiang, Seacoast’s 15 yrs old fencer who trains in both Rochester and Manchester, won two events at the New Hampshire Open this Saturday, September 18. In Women’s Foil, Nicole lost to Dianna Hohensee (who trains in Manchester once a week) in the pools, 2-5, but defeated her in the gold medal bout, 15-12. She followed this with a gold medal in Women’s Epee.
Jacob Pentheny only lost one bout in the Mixed Foil, but that was while battling for the gold medal, where he lost to his A rated opponent. Yang Tang, who trained for six years with Seacoast before attending UNH, was third in the Mixed Epee, and earned his C 2010. Ida Choy finished 3rd in the Women’s Foil event.
So it was a stellar day for Seacoast Fencers- two gold, one silver, and two bronze medals. Congratulations to all our fencers who competed this weekend.
