Bronze Medal at the Cincinnati NAC!
Seacoast sent three fencers to the Cincinnati NAC last weekend, and one came home with a medal! John Terninko finished third in the Veteran 70+ Men’s Saber. He fenced well in the pool, and in his direct elimination bouts, but lost to the eventual winner in his semi-final bout. This is his second consecutive third place finish at a national competition. Congratulations, John.
Seacoast’s good results span the generations, however. In division competition, 14 year old Charles Stine won the Unclassified Mixed Foil in Portland two weeks ago, and earned his E rating. It was a great meet, with 21 fencers from Maine, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. His only loss was in the pools, and defeated the number one seed in the semi-finals. Well done, Charles.
Also at that tournament, Kevin Clough took second place in the Veterans Mixed Foil. In that event, with fifteen fencers he avenged his only pool loss by defeating that fencer in the semifinals, but lost in the finals 7-10.
A great two week span for Seacoast, with three generations of fencers winning bronze, silver, and gold medals at both local and national events!
